For each Crybaby Subscription Box, we think that it’s very important to highlight the makers and the movers that made each box happen. (There are still a few limited edition self-care boxes left, pick up one before they're all gone!) The purpose of the box is to spread support and love while also supporting creatives and their endeavors. These are their stories.
When Mary Lynn first contacted me to collaborate, I freaked out. FREAKED OUT. Because Mary Lynn is a musician and she sent copies of her first album: "My Animal" for this subscription box.
Mary Lynn is a poprock artist and it's impossible not to bop around while listening to her music. From writing songs in high school to studying music in college, music has always been a part of Mary Lynn's life. Her voice will most definitely put a smile on your face and her genuine spirit and humbleness only makes her work shine even more.
Mary Lynn reached out to us to collaborate because she has a similar passion for celebrating pure emotions.
"To me, being comfortable with your emotions connects directly with being comfortable with who are are and accepting yourself, "Mary Lynn said. Mary Lynn talked about her struggle with self-esteem, self-worth and body image. For her, being able to openly talk about her issues was a huge step of becoming a happier person.
Mary Lynn takes these emotions and her life-experiences when writing her songs. Her album, "My Animal" focuses on her life from the ages of 23-26. Mary Lynn writes when she has an emotion that she needs to express. For this particular album (her second solo album), she focuses on heartbreak.
"On a deeper level, it's more about feeling stuck in that broken feeling and figuring out how to move forward," Mary Lynn said. "Learning to love yourself is a huge part of that process."
Mary Lynn is currently working on creating music videos for several singles off of "My Animal" and is working on her third solo album.
Mary Lynn truly appreciates and loves every play, every comment, every piece of love that gets sent to her about her work. She hopes that it will help heal others like it has helped heal her.

Her Message to Fellow Crybabies:
Keep crying - but really. Please, never hide your emotion. Always put it out there. It'll never not be worth it, even if it gets you hurt. It will make you a stronger and happier person in the end. You are beautiful, and you are an incredible human. Don't be too hard on yourself.
