Artist Spotlight: Corrine McBreen

For each Crybaby Subscription Box, we think that it’s very important to highlight the makers and the movers that made each box happen. The purpose of the box is to spread support and love while also supporting creatives and their endeavors. (There are a few boxes left and they are now available in the shop!) These are their stories.

Corrine McBreen is a visual artist from Maryland and her sunshine bursts through her portraits. Corrine captures souls in a brilliant way that is both raw and colorful. For the box, Corrine painted unique and one-of-a-kind bookmarks for all of us crybabies.

Her emotions flow through her work, and Corrine finds it important to free her emotions in all aspect of her life.

"I personally believe that my body is my home and my emotions are what keep it from falling down," Corrine said.

Every day, Corrine practices self-care, no matter how badly she feels about herself. Her favorite acts of self-care include journaling, talking to someone she trusts, painting, taking bubble baths, going on walks and loving herself no matter what.

"No one can validate your feelings but you," Corrine said.

Corrine just finished a very busy holiday season, making homemade gifts for her family and friends, along with some custom portraits. In 2017, Corrine is planning on attending art fairs to sell her work.
