Every few months, The Crybaby Club creates a Subscription Box featuring a large amount of creatives that have made something special just for our members. A huge part of this club is supporting other women and artists. This is one step we can take to do just that--to tell their stories.
Flora Kim is the founder of Free The Hand, a shop that creates delicate and hand-drawn temporary tattoos.
Flora had so much fun creating tattoos for our next crybaby box and had a crazy number of ideas. It was impossibly hard to narrow it down to two designs.
Flora was a perfect fit to design these because she connects to The Crybaby Club's message of celebrating emotions.
"I love that it flipped a name that usually has a negative connotation into something to embrace and even be proud of." Flora said. "Honestly, some societal norms are just plain stupid and it was such a relief to discover a group of awesome ladies who were doing something about it."
Flora believes that we shouldn't be afraid of self-expression because it's what makes us human. She expresses herself through her art which started off because she had a lot of tattoos that she personally wanted, so she wanted to test some temporary ones out first. As her friends saw her temporary tattoos, they started asking for them themselves, and Free The Hand was born.
In addition to Free the Hand, Flora's main creative outlet is actually writing and she is currently working on her copywriting portfolio. She is looking forward to more collaborations and creative outlets in the future.
